In Chapter 23 is about the end of the empire, it talks about the global south on the global stage this takes place from 1914 to the present. The first thing we learn about is the struggle for independence and the end of the empire. It began with Ghandi returning to india from south africa and it ends with the arab spring in the middle east. We explore independence in africa and asia as well as comparing freedom struggles and india ending the british rule. After this we learn about South africa ending the apartheid and experiments with freedom. There are experiments in political order as in the party, army, and fate of democracy. Economic Development: changing priorities and varying outcomes. Culture had a big role in islam turkey and iran at the time and provided important background information. In the end we reflect on the history in the middle of the stream and its effects on the world. The review for the hallmarks of the sisters of notre name de namur is all about what our school believes in with trust in our foundresses and we learn the standards we want to reach and excellence we want to strive for by God, and to help make peace of the world.
