                                                             Chapter 18+Documents
                        In Chapter 18 we learn about the Colonial encounter with a main focus on two continents Asia and Africa this was during 1750-1950. We start off leaning about Peace corps in Ethiopia and go on to learn about the Industry and the empire. This chapter lays out a map from the British takeover of India to Ghandi's leadership of the Indian National congress. Next we learn about the second wave of european conquests and their rivalry against other countries.Then we hear about the traditions of European rule and its pros and cons along with its efficiency, cooperation and the facts about its rebellion. After this we learn about Colonial empires with a difference, the differences between the colonial economies and specifically forced labor and the power of the state. This teaches us more about Cash-crop and the market pull as well as migration for work.  We also learn about women and the colonial empire in Africa. After this we learn about colonial development, identity and cultural change in regards to education, religion, and race and tribe. In the documents we learn about the letters, indian rebellion, and Azamgarh Proclamation, as well as british and indian rule. The visual sources show us about Africa with a little more insight on culture and leaders who would help Africa to expand and thrive.
