Discernment Research Project Ideas
My Brainstorm for the discenment research project is to have club I'm between two categories music and psychology. I have not chosen yet but i will post both ideas for the club and my example for the project. For music I was considering creating a acapella coed glee club for aspiring singers and dancer. I chose this club because at ndnu there are not many opportunities for people in music and arts. My example for psychology was a Brain Club for all the people aspiring to be a major in Psychology. There would be alot of community involvement and we would find internships as wells as visit and observe some practices. To complete this project by senior year i would have to do alot of reseach on the two topics and how to be involved in these projects. Overall I want to make a club that can help both music and psychology i might even blend the two but i would love to help people and help lead the way to success.
Animate Earth Chapter 11- In Service to Gaia
Nature Matters is about how we destroy nature and it will eventually lead to the destruction of our civilization. Rolling the Great Round Earth talks about how beautiful nature is and its major importance in our ecosystem. The trouble with growth talks about how hard it can be to clean up the mess weve made and fix our mistakes with destroying nature, because we have caused many plants and animals to go extinct. Steady-State Economics is about sustainable development and the amount of matter flowing through the global economy. Deep Ecology is about changing our world and technology to be in favor of Gaia and help her to become new again. There is platform called The Ecosophical Tree, it points out that trees give us nutrition for life and is a major giver of oxygen which we need to sustain life. We need to start fixing the earth now before it turns into a crisis and its too late to turn back. Overall we need to get all people to contribute to take action and have a "fruitful relationship with Gaia, our Animate Earth".
Animate Earth Chapter 10- Gaia and Biodiversity
Gaia and Biodiversity talks about the different life forms on earth and how they contribute to give us element we need to survive. It talks about extinction as well and how fast everything can be taken away if we do not take proper care of the earth. It explains our complex system in accordance with the climate, global processes, and biogeochemicals. It also talks about different species of animals that contribute to our core needs. Especially in the forest there are many animals that can help you live and help the plants thrive there. In vanishing species we learn how many animals have gone extinct due to human flaws and simple mistakes. In Biodiversity and Ecological Stability we learn about the major feedback that influences human enterprise to corrupt the forest and can tear apart the forest it damages from the inside out. Lastly we are warned that if we do not stop this process we will slowly go extinct as well so we must take better care of our earth and animals to ensure our survival.

Animate Earth Chapter 9- Desperate Earth
Gaia in her Natural State explains how humans can never know all the answers about Gaia there will always be something unknown. Also it talks about Gaias diversity of speech, chemicals, and transitions. Gaia and the Western World is about how humans change the climate and contribute to the heat that keeps growing hotter every year. There are many concerns surrounding earth and of course the ongoing rumors of global warning coming true. Species on the Move is based on the evidence of the climate changes also the worlds biotic communities. It also gives an example of the Amazon and how it doesnt look as promising as expected eiither.  Hurricanes and Global Dimming talks about the negative feedbacks of the warnings earth gives us. Overall Earth will continue to become more and more desperate as time goes on and we ignore it humans must help and care for Gaia in order to save Earth.
Animate Earth Chapter 8- The Forgotten Kingdom
Labyrinths underfoot is about the soil, trees, seasons changing, plants and especially ourselves. Fungal lives is about fungus and bacteria in plants and a seedling found in oaks called hypha. Brains in the soil explains how fungi works and functions, it is very intelligent and has a good sense of things. Fungi and the carbon cycle speaks of the trees and thier size as well as thier importance in global disasters and thier huge absorptive capacities. Fungal parasites and predators is about the age of rocks, and how they enhance our biodiversity. Back to lichens is about fungi on rocks and thier job in our world and how they can be both good and bad. It also explains lichens chemical effect on weather, and thier dissolving activities. Overall we as humans are the exact essence of animate earth.

Animate Earth Chapter 7- From Microbes to Cell Giants
Bacterias Rule the World talks about the types of bacterias that bring disease to humans. This chapter also speaks on behalf of the planet and its energy, recycling and decomposing methods. Bacteria also produces cell membranes into fibers in its surroundings which can cause items  that interfere to deteriorate. We also learn about a specific bacteria called Vibrio fischeri, it lives in the sea and can create colonies. Most bacteria is found in the ocean and are dangerous/poisonous to human beings. Bacterial Mergers on the other hand deals with the rise of oxygen that causes change in both the world of bacteria and earth. It causes things like climate by sun, volcanoes, and talks about oxygen as the beginning and ending of life. This gas causes very high reactions, it surrounds the outer orbit of electrons. Lastly it talks about how the plants remove carbon dioxide from our world through a process called  photosynthesis. Overall our planet lives off of oxygen and bacteria and it helps the plants live and the plants help sustain life in our universe.

Animate Earth Chapter 6- Life, Clouds, and Gaia
In this chapter we learn about different aspects of the earth for example Sulphur and Albedo. It also explains how dangerous gaseous chemical beings are when they affect our universe. Another topic that this chapter dives into is the inside of a coccolithophore cell this lives in the waters on the oceans surface. DMS producing algae are some small bacterias that can make foams and slimes that make it easy to be airborne. This helps the algae survive both the salt and freezing temperature in the ocean. Next is the Biomes and Climate and their ecological communities and how they impact the worlds climate. It also talks about Gaia's physiology and the way they can dramatically and unexpectedly change. Overall we learn about different chemicals that inhabit a few places around our planet and their effects on our world.

Animate Earth Chapter 5- Carbon Journeys
In this chapter we learn about the ways carbon travels throughout the universe and the different jobs it completes. It also talks about Emiliania which is a type of algae one of the many different types is coccolithophores which means "carriers of little stoneberries." This is one of the many types of cabon journeys that are important to life on earth.  We also learn about Calcium Bicarbonaate and the way it trasmits to help the elements. "Life and land is a great rock-crushing, and rock-dissolving" being that contains many products. Volcanoes, hot springs, and earthquakes are some great dangers that cause tectonic activity and cause alot of damage. It also looks on the other side about cold damage like in Antartica and Alaska. In the end in our contemporary society it is like we are having war with nature  and we cause the climate change and natural disasters, the world will take care of us but first we need to start taking better care of our world.
Animate Earth Chapter 4- Life and the Elements
In this chapter we learn about elements in the universe that help tells us about how to live our life contentlly and free of harm. It also talks about atoms as beings, and how they can affect us humans as beings on earth. It also talks about another type of philosophical topic it is called panpsychism this is the idea that matter is sentient. A main few of the Gaia's Elements are: carbon, carbon dioxide, oxygen, and hydrogen. It also explains Phosphorus which means light bearing and it in the language of Greece better known as Greek. Phosphorus releases energy, stores it, and its energy is derived from the sun, which is the power of light. Also we learn that every person will behave in exactly the same way, this is because when it comes to danger, we all have the same response. Finally we learn in the end that the next step for Gaia  to journey on to is the apperance of life.

Animate Earth Chapter 3- From Gaia Hypothesis to Gaia Theory
This chapter moves from a simple hypothesis to a real theory to be tested and experimented on to get results on Gaia. Living beings must adapt to the enviormental conditions to be able to survive and live off earthly goods. Scientist cant object Gaia they need to find rational arguments to call it a bad science. There are usually small impacts or changes in sea level or tempurature usually simple changes. There are many scientific opinions divided by causes of mass extinction. It is very possible to generate complex systems that give both positive and negative feedback. There are old and exceeding changes that the world goes through, though some things are better left unsaid.  Overall there is alot of potential for many changes in the universe over time and we are constanly adapting to new enviorments.

Animate Earth Chapter 2- Encountering Gaia
This chapter talks about how we relate to the Ancient Greeks and how they helped set up our society. We know Gaia is a living presence buried under sediments in the west that is a dualistic science. Something is right when it tends to preserve the integrity of stability and beauty of a biotic community. Humans are living brings with profound intuitions and ethical guide lines about how we should live and act in our daily lives. Modern science is rooted in the soil of our direct sensorial experience. Gaian approaches allow humans to develop a sense of how the local connects and contributes in multifarious surprising and normally significant ways to life at global levels. Overall we experience the whole of life and we realize that we are inseparable beings in one big planet.
